The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) was founded in 1972 as a non-profit, independent entity dedicated to improving the quality of automobile and truck service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of technicians. Nearly 400,000 automobile and truck service and repair professionals hold current ASE certifications. ASE also offers other programs of interest and value to automotive professionals. Because ASE Certification of technicians and service consultants is voluntary it provides evidence of the professional’s commitment to quality.
